Digital Scrapbooking

I’m so happy to have a job that compliments one of my hobbies, scrapbooking. Scrapbooking, art and framing parallel in so many ways:
The most important - Preserving memories for generations to come or remembering a special day.
Use of color – it is always interesting to me how color can make or break a project.
And then, of course, creating a focal point or bringing a focal point to life. There is a fine line between absorbing all that is going on within a scrapbook page and really noticing what you really want to see – the picture!

I mainly do digital scrapbooking, which is creating a page entirely in the computer, and then printing it out. Viola – ready for the scrapbook. I enjoy the ‘real thing’ more; creating a page using the real photograph, real paper and embellishments. It is textural, has depth, and sometimes can be more vivid, much like the difference between original art and a print or giclĂ©e. But alas, digital scrapbooking is so much quicker.

I think that’s why I like using the Integrated Framer® Visualization system – a framing visualization software that allows you to see what your artwork will look like, matted and framed, before you begin. It applies the same principles – that frame doesn’t work – let’s try this one – quick as snap! See what I mean?
As for now, I will preserve my memories in my computer and one of these days, I’ll frame a really good one!
