Ken's Trip To Tru-Vue

Tru-Vue, the company that manufactures the vast majority of glazing used by the framing industry, invited several industry educators to their Minnesota production facility last week to learn about the unique and highly sophisticated process of placing the premium coatings on their products. My trip to the Tru-Vue facility was very interesting and educational.

Two things really stood out to me while visiting. First, it was amazing how automated the huge facility was. Almost every aspect of the production used state-of the-art technology. There were very few workers on the assembly lines of this very detailed process; they used robots similar to the automotive industry to handle sheets of glass.

The second most impressive aspect of the tour was the attention to detail that the company was committed to. A significant amount of the process is devoted to minimizing flaws and imperfections in the coating process.

Learning more about the products we offer means we can confidently answer questions our customers have and we can provide our customers the best possible product.
